Healthy West Chicago partners with the national nonprofit Share Our Strength to offer Cooking Matters® in West Chicago, a program that empowers families at risk of hunger to shop for and cook healthy, affordable, and delicious meals as part of the No Kid Hungry® campaign.

Join us Feb. 4th-Mar. 11th for a Hands-On, Six-Week Course for Adults. Each course is team-taught by volunteers and a certified nutrition educator. Classes are geared towards parents and caregivers and covers meal preparation, grocery shopping, food budgeting and nutrition.

Within the six-week course participants will be offered an Interactive Grocery Store Tour which provides hands-on education as they shop for food, giving them skills to compare foods for cost and nutrition. Participants learn how to plan and budget for healthy, affordable, and delicious meals for their families.

Following each course participants will take home a prize tailored to the education provided during the course.

Upon completion of the six-week course Graduating Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and Grocery Gift Card!
